A few pictures from the early 50s of cellery planting in the cambridge fens. there planted in furrows so presumibly trench cellery a crop now not commercially grown. The days before transplanters but as I understand horses were worked on farms in the fens as a suppliment to tractors quite late on as farmers could haul off crops in poor weather when tractors would bog down and destroy soil structure.
