    Posted: 08 May 2010 at 8:16am

As mentioned in earlier posts on the forum, some of the areas are now password protected. This is from 9am, on the 8th May 2010, a week later than anticipated.

Anybody wishing to join the forum can do so and can post in the Main Forum Area section. However to have access to the VHGMC Members Forums requires membership to the VHGMC.

If you are already a VHGMC member but do not have the forum password then please complete the following form,
http://www.vhgmc.co.uk/extras/forumrequestform.htm ,we will manually check your details against the VHGMC members list.

To become a VHGMC member, (a years membership is just 12.00) and get an instant download of The Cultivator magazine and password details please visit:  http://www.vhgmc.co.uk/vhgmc/vhgmcabout.htm

Many thanks

Alan

Update: The three extra sections, Ride-on, Pedestrian, Garden Implements  are all seperate forums so the password applies to each individually. So the first time you visit each section you will need to type in the password and click the 'Remember password' button or similar - so you'll end up typing in the password three times initially - it's been done this way in anticipation of future sections and developments.

Not something we would want to do, otherwise everything will end up in the general section. The idea of making the picture section members only is to encourage people to join the club.

The insurance would not do me any good.  Sort of expensive for me considering the benefits in return.  If I did the conversion correctly, it would be around $24.  Guess I am done posting and viewing.

You can still use the general one, we don't want to lose a valuable international member....

i wonder how many we will lose as a result of the changes?, i personally feel what alan and charlie etc have done is right, after all there is still a open to all section, it must take a fair bit of time and money to manage this sight so for a pound a month to have access to all areas is a bargin, works out at just over 3pence a day!

I agree , I maybe a newbie but I think that if your willing to spend money on anything with a view to restoring it, what is a few more quid to join the club with its endless sources of information and also offers of help, plus there is still a general section for free, alot of other clubs etc have a policy if you dont pay you dont get access to anything.

I agree 12 pounds is nothing, I am not loaded but I don't drink I don't smoke, (boring sod me) I don't currently show but the insurance is still worth it in case I do.

I think it is incredible value for the information found, friends gained, broadening of one's experience, besides, nothing is free these days, except maybe the air we breathe, everything has a price and a related cost.

I agree 1 a month for such a proactive club scene and great newsletter and access to member knowledge is a great investment. I know from experience how difficult and expensive it is to run a club (my own specialising in a couple of marques alone). So VHGMC membership is great value.

Hello, 50 cents a week or just over 7 and a half cents a day too expensive? I thought Americans were big spenders!I'm most amused today!

As a newbie I have been buisy searching the site. What a site. Although I have been collecting various engines, nachines etc for a number of years and found much information on the web there is nothing to beat reading & seeing other people's work let alone the valuable knowledge base.
I can't believe our American cousin's attitude towards the menbership fee!!! My son is married into a wonderful American family and lives in Missouri. Believe me when I say that his attitude does not seem to be typical. My personal view is that the more countries that join the better but if they are not prepared to pay the VERY modest fee then it is their loss.

I have only been a member for a few days and have already got my money's worth!

Hi,

I've not had a request for the password from you, however that's not to say you haven't requested one as emails do go missing as they get automatically sent from point A to B.

I'll send you a PM shortly.

Website revamp has taken an extraordinary amount of time to pack in everything that's required to bring everything together. Worth waiting for!

Alan
