I found a long time ago, the easiest way to  reset the air gap is to place a bit of a cereal box between the coil and magnet and tighten down, the gap is then allmost spot on.

I've seen solid tyres turned on a lathe before now,..can give a uniform finish if there's enough 'meat' left...

Have just ordered a new set of wheels, the closest match i could find because no matter what i tried i couldnt get the original wheels to a high enough standard. Not cheap though, up till i had only spent about 30 on the whole project because i bought it as a lot of 2 out of season and sold the unwanted much later example with the wrong engine fitted in season for what i paid for the 2.
New blades and bolts have also arrived, hopefully not long now till shes finished.

Up till now ive allways purchased the reproduction briggs decals from the states however they often took a long time to arrive and several were poorly cut. I think the photos show the quality in Titch's ones, will be ordering all from him from now on. Ive just got to overhaul the throttle cable now, then can get this engine hopefully running, probably for the first time in many years

That is interesting!  I require some decals for a 1942 Briggs Model A that I have restored and was going to order some from the States, now I think that TITCH will be a better option for them looking at the quality of those!
I will have to try and contact him.
A good job on that machine by the way, first class.

The best way to contact him is either a pm or www.machinerydecals.co.uk . Thank you for your compliments, as simarkid says i'm going to have to think twice about using it now, may have to find out whats wrong with my other one.
