Hi
Anyone out there any ideas how or if I can replace this mesh. It's a fan cover and so will have to have a circular hole for the start pulley. it seem to have been cast into the cover as you can see.
I may have to just cut it out but I thought I would give you all a shout first.
It's off a 25a engine.

if you cut it out to leave about 1/4" remaining all round it will give you a  base to fit a new mesh to. failing that a flat washer to edge the hole, drilled to take the wires, and then drill holes for the ends in the casting and build up your own new net of mesh wire by wire (a bit like darning old socks), personally I would leave enough mesh to fix a new mesh onto on the outside of the old mesh .

Does anyone know what the two brackets are for on the fan cover?

Yet another new topic on the old forum that should have been started on the new forum. Remember this forum will close and become an archive.

Errr, No Charlie! Topic started August 8th 2012........ just commented on recently....... This is the point the few of us have tried to make regarding the switch to the new forum. The recent post would look ridiculous standing alone on the new forum, without the original thread. No continuity.......... Without prejudice of course!

Opps sorry. Lack of recent post would suggest either an answer was found or nothing better could be suggested. It would not be a problem for originator to start a new topic on the new forum if they are still looking for a solution.
