In the June issue of The Cultivator was published a web address for members to pre-register for the new website and forum. Please go to the site address given on page 5 and register. This will save you time when the new site goes live and will give you full access from day one.
Thank you to those that have already registered.
There will be an announcement telling when the new site is live.

Hi Charlie, when the new website first appeared I registered and had a look around that evening. The website disappeared after just 1 day. Do I still need to re-register or am I still on the system from that first night?

When I went to it my browser, Firefox, warned me that it was an insecure and potentially dangerous site!

Have I missed something ? I received the April issue of the Cultivator ( no. 88) The June issue has been mentioned, is this because April was received in June ? Looked at page 5 and can see no mention of re-registering. Am I missing something or just showing my age ?

crawler, yes you need to re-register.
pete, you should have received June issue around 15th June, sounds as if it may have got lost in post, let me know.
Don't know why Firefox does that but others have had the same message, OK with Google chrome.

Would be useful if the registration site sent an automated acknowledgement - or does it and mine hasn't succeeded?

I probably shouldn't be reading this thread, as I'm not a VHGMC member this year.... but....

Reading between the lines, does this mean that this forum is scheduled to close and a new forum started which is only open to VHGMC members, with no public access?

The same thing happened to me, the published web address went to the existing front page. My daughter found it first time using her I Pad and using exactly the same address! she then emailed me a link this worked ok and I was then able to re register ok.

I will raise this issue with the web development team. The only thing I can think of is an old version of the site/link is stored on your computers and it is using that rather than what you type in.

Have found possible cause of problem.
Are you typing the url in the address bar or search bar of your browser? It needs to be in the address bar.
If you still get the problem please e mail a screen shot, press prt scr (print screen) button then paste into a word document and send as attachment.

Yes there will be a new website and forum and like the existing forum certain sections will only be open to paid members.
If you have joined the club recently and not had a download link for the June magazine, please send pm with your full name.
