Hi all,

I would just like to show you a few pictures of my little project I picked up today.

I know it isn't a really old model, I think it is mid eighties.

I didn't think it too bad for 50, even as a non runner

The seat is a bit tatty and torn, the starter motor came in kit form in a box and the engine is seized. The gear lever moves through all positions, the clutch lever moves and feels like its doing something, but the brake lever just flops about - I have had a look and it looks like something has broken off.

It came with a pair of little front wheels too.

I went to collect it with my friend Rachel, so soon as we got it off the trailer we did the obligatory push round the driveway making engine noises as it doesn't run yet. It does roll and steer though, very much like a land rover!

Yes hopeful to have it running for the 2014 show. No idea if all extinguishers still in date. They were ok a while ago as dad set fire to my car and they were the replacements!

Swapped my engine today. It was easier than I thought it would be to do and took me about 2 hours. What I found out was that the old engine doesn't seem to be seized at all. When you turn the shaft underneath it turns freely and makes sucking noises from the top, it sounds to me like its fine. I did notice that where the pulleys are underneath the bracket was done up so tight it was fouling the pulleys and seemed like that could possibly have stopped the whole lot turning. If I get time later this week I will have a go at firing her up then get the belt back in place and see whether she will drive.
