    Posted: 24 Aug 2013 at 8:03pm
Back home after a very wet Day 1 at Tractorfest, despite the very wet weather (shades of Ardingly 2012... ), those that were there (pity there weren't some more) had a good day as can be seen below...

An unofficial theme seemed to be Pairs of Machines, we had two Anzani Motor Hoes, two Jobbers and two Versatillers amongst other machines in a varied lineup, well done to vegikev for a very good first go at this event.

More photos tomorrow...

The last photo shows several members in conversation beside an unusual Weeks Dungay tractor, steve d and one of his henchmen have probably convinced the owner to bring it to Ardingly 2014...

Nice photos Paul. Obviously caught between the showers and occasional downpours. Who does the Weeks Dungay tractor belong to? It is good to see one out and about.

The weeks dungay was brought by a local blacksmith who had a stall at the show but it belongs to a friend of his .he also owns another. A very nice and rare machine indeed.

As far as I know there were only 3 built. I believe the whereabouts of the 3rd one is not known.

I am delighted to see your photos especially of the Weeks Dungay tractor. It really is one of the early pioneers of the British tractor industry, invented by Mr Dungay before the first World War and built by Weeks in Kent. The tractor was narrow enough to be used in the orchards and hop gardens of the area.
I last saw it at Detling in 1975 and had assumed that over the years it had met the same fate as so many of the really rare tractors and ended up being bought for an eyewatering amount by a big  collector or museum here or abroad.
I am chuffed that it is still locally owned, andyou say the man has another one!!!
Below may be of interest my picture of the tractor at Detling in 1975

Well done to all concerned. This new event looks like it has the potential to be a great event in an area of Kent that has been lacking in shows for years.

Afternoon all, well what a great weekend tractorfest turned out to be Thumbs%20Up
I was kind of expecting a "village green" sort of show, but wow was it far bigger than I expected with something there for everyone.

A big thank you to Kev, Ethan, Nigel, Paul and Steve for the great company and laughs. Special thanks to Ethan for keeping the coffee flowing all weekend Thumbs%20Up

And last but by no means least...
