I have two here in Australia. One is stuffed, the other runs well but i have done a lot of work to it. My dad reckons there were hundreds of these around when he was a kid, you still see quite a few. Anyone have a source of ledger plates?

I have just taken off the cutting bar ( seized up ) so i can turn the engine over and i have no compression so i am hoping its a stuck valve, also no spark, it will be a strip down tomorrow to find out..

Villiers Mk25 now up and running Big%20smile, just got to try and find a gasket set for it as I used the old ones to make sure it was ok, the spark side of it was just the points! so a new set of points for it as well and a needle and jet as the needle looks like its had a hard life.
Now for the clutch which is all seized up Confused.

I have now got the clutch assembly apart but I have found that a rod that goes into the gearbox seems to be seized solid or has broken inside, so the top will have to come off to find out.

I have now removed the top off the gearbox to check it out, and no worn or broken parts Smile, it was the rod that moves the clutch in and out that was stuck solid in the casing ! managed to free it and get it out a good clean up and now moves freely...Big%20smile. Should there be a gasket between the case and the top?..

Gave one end of the blades a quick dip in the tank to see what sort of condition they were in, and they ent to bad ?, just a bit pitted, but I might treat it to a new set when all finished, I will see..
