I have a Howard rotary hoe serial no 28708 can anyone tell me year of manufacture?????? how do i find out what series it is any help appreciated as i need to get parts book. thanks

I dont know the year of manufacture but im sure someone on here will soon be able to tell you.However i do know from my literature that its a series 1V Gem (series 4).The engine should be a Howard 810cc twin cylinder petrol (or optional petrol/parrafin) or a Sachs 500 single cylinder diesel.

Photo will help with identification. Does it have quadrant type gear change or earlier lever type?

some series 4,s also had the jap from the series 3 fitted, although are rare.
If it isnt orange it isnt a rotavator

   WOW thanks for the response will upload picture asap it looks like the enginge is a replacement as it's not orange it's a kholar 10magnam
