Must see a pic of a Westwood with a 3-point linkage - or is it just the mounting for a powered grass collector? |

i will take a pic over the weekend. I does have two lower arms about 12 inches appart with an adjustable top link about 10 inches long and a long raising arm on the right with a parking point for the arm It may well be just the mounting for a grass collector ignorance is bliss but to my untrained eye its a mini three point linkage

Well, that IS a 3-point linkage. Looks too good to be home made but I've never seen one before or for that matter a picture of one.
I have a friend who worked for Westwood from back in the Plymouth days and I will ask. |

Have contacted my friend and this is his reply ----
" When I joined Westwood the S600 were still in production but had
no pto or hitch frame some were converted to have pto, easy job in the
factory as we had cutting and drilling jigs plus all the new parts. When
first at Westwood I spent about 6 weeks (1985) in the factory much of
the time was in R&D and spent lots of time looking at the many odd
creations, competitors machines and can say I never saw any form of 3
point linkage. After that, I was there every month for a couple of days
Could have been made before I joined Westwood but I doubt that would
have ever left the factory ,unless it was a special for Jerry and went
to a friend or his home. Nice to have a bit of history. Looking
at the quality of the welding ( one thing Westwood could do was weld)
on the 3 point linkage it looks to have been made in a home workshop but
by someone who was very capable as the geometry looks right. But then
all that would be available in the agricultural standards for cat 0
linkage. The adjustable link is on the wrong side though. It does look
good though and it's nice to see something unique. Just wondering what
it was used for, there must be an attachment somewhere! "
So it could be the only survivor!! The Jerry that he refers to is Jerry Hazelwood the founder of Westwood. |

The serial number on a westwood plate is 81w6e 000391. The paint on the linkage is a perfect match to the bonnet and both have faded the same. sorry i have no other history as purchased earlier this year at an auction near swindon wilts..
