Not many takers for the Manor Farm weekend this year, I arrived on Saturday afternoon, to find Ron Manners and his grandson just having finished harrowing and rolling a small paddock. The lad was driving a home made tractor with a B&S engine driving an Austin gearbox, via a laid down Colwood Albion gearbox, then an Austin diff. It works well.

Russ Berry had his new acquisition, a single speed Trusty with a Douglas engine. He was practising ploughing with it...

What a good day we had! Spent most of Sunday morning getting my Merry Tiller to run properly, then mowed about 10 foot of weeds and it stopped, refusing to start again. At the end of the day I drained the tank but couldn't get all the petrol out so I gave it a couple of pulls and away it went, I drove it round the paddock until it ran the tank dry. More attention needed there. Nice to meet Darmic1 who came down with his family for the day...
